A megállapodás hatálybalépése újabb mérföldkövet jelent Magyarország és a közel-keleti térség gazdasági együttműködésében: Hazánk az Európai Unió legaktívabb tárgyalópartnereként az utóbbi négy évben három közel-keleti állammal kötött hasonló megállapodást, köztük az Egyesült Arab Emírségekkel és az Ománi Szultánsággal.
A Bahreini Királysággal kötött megállapodás modern és kiszámítható jogi keretet biztosít a befektetések kölcsönös védelmére és ösztönzésére, biztosítva a befektetők tisztességes és méltányos bánásmódhoz való jogát, a közvetlen és közvetett kisajátítás elleni védelmet, továbbá a beruházási viták nemzetközi választottbírósági eljárásban történő rendezését. A megállapodás hozzájárul a két ország közötti gazdasági kapcsolatok hosszantartó fejlődéséhez.

Hungary Achieves New Foreign-Trade Milestone in the Middle East: Hungary–Bahrain Investment Protection Agreement Enters into Force
The investment protection agreement between Hungary and the Kingdom of Bahrain, signed in Manama on 4 September 2024 has entered into force today. Its entry into force represents a new milestone in the economic cooperation between Hungary and the Middle East. As the European Union’s most active negotiating partner in this field, Hungary has concluded similar agreements with three Middle Eastern states in the past four years, including the United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman.
The agreement with the Kingdom of Bahrain provides a modern and predictable legal framework for the mutual protection and promotion of investments. It guarantees investors the right to fair and equitable treatment, protection against direct and indirect expropriation, and the possibility to resolve investment disputes through international arbitration. The agreement is expected to contribute to the long-term development of economic relations between the two countries.
