A Bizottság 3. ülése – diplomáciai kapcsolataink 60. évfordulóját ünnepelve – kiváló alkalmat biztosított a Pakisztánnal való együttműködés iránti elkötelezettségünk megerősítésére, valamint a két ország közötti gazdasági és diplomáciai kapcsolatok új szintre emelésére olyan területeken, mint a beruházásvédelem, a vízgazdálkodás, a mezőgazdaság, az energia, az oktatás, a kultúra és a sport.
Pakisztán 2023-ban hazánk 79. kereskedelmi partnere volt; exportunkban a 90., míg importunkban a 63. helyet foglalta el. 2024 első tíz hónapjában a magyar kivitel értéke meghaladta a 18 millió dollárt, importunk értéke pedig a 46 millió dollárt. A mintegy 250 millió fős lakossággal és gyorsan növekvő gazdasággal rendelkező dél-ázsiai ország szerepe vitathatatlan a régióban, így a további gazdasági lehetőségek feltérképezése és kiaknázása kiemelt szempont hazánk számára a Gazdasági Vegyes Bizottság munkája, valamint egy jövőbeli beruházásvédelmi megállapodás révén.
A Pakisztánnal való gazdasági kapcsolataink egyik sarokköve az energia terén való együttműködés: a MOL Pakistan a MOL-csoport leányvállalataként 1999 óta van jelen az országban, hozzájárulva Pakisztán energiabiztonságához. Mindemellett említésre méltóak oktatási kapcsolataink is: Magyarország a Stipendium Hungaricum Ösztöndíjprogram keretében évente 400 ösztöndíjat ajánl fel pakisztáni hallgatóknak magyar vagy angol nyelvű képzések folytatására.
A 3. ülés alkalmával a társelnökök aláírták a jövőbeli együttműködési irányokat kijelölő Jegyzőkönyvet, és megállapodtak abban, hogy a Bizottság következő ülése Budapesten kerül megrendezésre.

The Hungarian-Pakistani Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation held its 3rd Session in Islamabad on 6-7 February 2025
The 3rd Session of the Hungarian-Pakistani Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation took place in Islamabad on 6-7 February 2025. The Hungarian delegation was led by H.E. Tamás Vargha, Deputy Minister of Defence and State Secretary, Co-Chair of the Hungarian Side, and the Pakistani delegation was headed by H.E. Dr. Kazim Niaz, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Co-Chair of the Pakistani Side.
Hungary and Pakistan mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of their bilateral relations, and on this significant occasion, the 3rd Session of the Commission provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen our partnership and to take our diplomatic and economic relations to a new level in areas such as investment protection, water management, agriculture, energy, education, culture, and sport.
Pakistan was our 79th trading partner in 2023, ranking 90th in exports and 63rd in imports. In the first ten months of 2024, the value of Hungarian exports exceeded 18 million USD and imports 46 million USD. With a population of around 250 million people and a fast-growing economy, the role of the South-Asian country in the region is vital. For this reason, the exploration and exploitation of further economic opportunities is a priority for Hungary through the work of the Commission and a future investment protection agreement.
One of the cornerstones of our economic relations with Pakistan is cooperation in the field of energy: as a subsidiary of the MOL Group, MOL Pakistan has been present in the country since 1999, contributing to Pakistan's energy security. Furthermore, educational cooperation is also high on our agenda: Hungary offers 400 scholarships annually to Pakistani students to pursue studies in Hungarian or English under the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme.
At the end of the Session, the Co-Chairs signed the Protocol setting out the directions for future cooperation and agreed that the next meeting of the Commission will be held in Budapest.
